Roatan Church Update – August 2013

Nelson and Kara Ministry

12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. – Philippians 3:12-16

Praise the Lord.
First we want to thank you for all your prayers and support that enable us to do the ministry God calls us to do in Roatán.
Sunday August18th we moved to our own place for the first time to celebrate and worship Jesus, and give thanks for all His provision and for the blessing of having the property for our church. On Monday 19th our Bishop Lloyd Allen signed the land transfer document as representative of the Episcopal Church of Honduras. On the 20th the seller signed too and on the 22nd I got hold of the document so I could pay the taxes. Now we are ready to install the electricity and water, set up a septic and build a tarp so we can meet as a congregation. We will continue to meet at the property, even if we do not have all of this; in fact, we will have a service there this Sunday under a tree at 4:30 pm before it gets dark (but in case it rains, we will meet at the regular place.)
This has been a blessing for us and it is so exciting to be at our property on a permanent basis.
Kara went to participate in Happening (Teck) from August 9th to 11th and to a Cursillo weekend with two women from the church in Roatán, from the 15th to the 18th. Monday 19th we had had a Deanery meeting over on the mainland in Tela, at a church that is part of the deanery.
We pray that we can stay in touch; please check our blog: https://nelsonandkara.wordpress.com/
Subscribe or send us an email asking us to add you to our contacts and we will send you an update directly, or if you prefer a letter in the mail, let us know and we will do that for you.

Let us run with determination the race that lies before us. Let us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from beginning to end. – Hebrews 12: 1-2

Thank you very much for your prayers and financial support that make possible our ministry in the church in Roatán. May God continue to bless you, your congregation and your country.
